LetsEncrypt feature enabled on VestaCP
#1
With the latest release of VestaCP a new feature has been added to the GUI, the ability to utilize LetsEncrypt's free SSL certificates. These are 100% and supported by all browsers at this time. Here's how you enable this feature for your service (this works on sub-domains and your own domains):

1) Navigate to your domain and click the Edit button.

2) Scroll down and check the box for "SSL Support" then check the box for "Lets Encrypt Support", once both boxes are checked scroll all the way down and click the "Save" button.

That's all there is to it. Enjoy your free HTTPS encryption!

When trying to enable this on my services, the process fails at the .well-known/acme-challenge step, as the file is not being created.  Is there a specific permissions setting I need to change via FTP?

It looks like the Let's Encrypt module in VestaCP sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Out of the 10 most recent services, 3 of them had the nginx proxy disabled (yours being two of them) while the other 7 have it enabled. I think I'm going to be re-evaluating VestaCP since this seems to be a reoccurring problem (along with other issues that regularly break automation) and it doesn't look like the VestaCP devs will be fixing it any time soon.

@KuJoe I'm sorry this is happening with Let's Encrypt as you and your developers are about the only specialists I've found who have a phenomenal specialist knowledge of how it works. I myself tried to make VestaCP work in VPSs, but it's got so many hurdles, little ones like how to make phpmyadmin work after installation, not getting my WordPress to install from FileZilla, etc etc, i.e. it comes up with the white screen of death and then I have to install it from the root instead. Yet with your installation everything worked perfect from the get go and WordPress installs flawlessly through the panel. The best part is that this is the fastest free hosting I've had and I thought this had to do with VestaCP installation vs cPanel. Could be I've been wrong and it's just how the developers have set up the server.

Anyway, I just wanted to provide you with feedback that I've had a wonderful experience with your version of VestaCP. I had to figure out a few technical things as they worked a little different to cPanel, but on the whole it worked. I haven't tried Let's Encrypt as I didn't really need it with the sub-domain that you provided, which for me is perfect, many thanks. cPanel is of course still the best and I know cPanel, WHM and WHMCS best, but terribly expensive. VestaPanel, even with its few flaws is the panel that works the best for me for no cost.
